ChicKen ScRatch Slings are wonderfully designed and constructed carriers with a very short learning curve. Our slings are adjustable, unlike some other types of carriers, so our slings will grow with your baby, up through toddlerhood. We have also designed a shoulder band (our signature to each ChicKen ScRatch Sling and the original and first ever available on the market) which serves as a guide to help you with shoulder placement. The trimmed edges also make adjusting easier. They allow you to quickly identify where each rail is so that you can quickly adjust the top and bottom. The rails are once again along with the shoulder band, our identity and signature to each sling! This makes our slings not only detailed and beautiful, but also more functional and easily recognizable!
Most slings come designed with a perfectly sized and secured pocket, which allows for easy storage of keys, diapers and anything else that you may need. Our slings also feature a long, flowing tail which can be used as a blanket in the cold, a shield from the shining sun, a nursing cover or to give your child a break from the ever changing enviroment. The options on how to use your ChicKen ScRatch Sling are endless.

Does size really matter?
Well isn't that the age old question?! The answer is YES! You must have the right size in order for you to sucessfully carry your child in a ChicKen ScRatch Sling.
Having a sling too large will result in the tail falling below your knee and possibly creating a saftey hazzard by increasing the possibility of you tripping. A sling too large will also allow for the pocket to be too far down, resulting in the pocket becoming useless.
If you choose a size too small, the pocket would be caught in the rings, once again allowing for a useless pocket and the impossibility of adjusting the rails.
Ok, so what if you happen to be 2 sizes?
That happens. You go to the store, try on some jeans and you can wear 2 sizes, now what? Well, ask yourself this (when deciding on your CSRS Size, not your jean size):
"Do I want a long tail or a short one?" Your answer to that will determine your size. I am thin, but really tall. I have narrow shoulders and a larger bust.... BUT I prefer a shorter tail now that my son is a toddler and I no longer need a cover up, so I get a shorter one. I can successfully wear a size XS-L, but the chart recommends a small, so that's what I will wear.
What if you want to know exactly what size sling will work for you and you don't want to rely on the size chart?
Ok! Some want to make EXTRA sure of the size, and we totally encourage that! What you should do is take a soft measuring tape, start at the back of your shoulder and hang the tape where you would wear your rings (this is about 4" for me), then you will wrap the tape *loosely* around your back, up to the starting place of the tape (back to the rings) and see where you would like for the tail to end.**
*Remember that a baby is going in there, so leave enough room for him too!*
**Most of our slings have 20" of accent fabric, you will need approximately 27" on the tail for plenty of room for the accents and adjusting.** If I measure around me and remember that I need those accents accounted for, I come up with 78" of length, a size small.
